I retired from CUSD in 2007 after a 34 year career in the district. I was a teacher in 1977, 78 and 81 when there were elections to make CUSD a union district. The voting was close, but I am convinced that Clovis would not be the special place it is today if the union had won their case. I encourage all employees to carefully consider this critical matter and not rush to turn the district over to just another union district that causes it’s employees to argue over adult special interests, instead of what is best for your students. Whatever the grievances are at this time, please find a path to addressing those issues that doesn’t include CTA or any other outside parties.
